Children's Cancer Network

Children’s Cancer Network is an Arizona-based, 501c3 nonprofit organization that that focuses on the needs of Arizona’s children and families dealing with childhood cancer. Established in 2004, this 100% volunteer organization is continually growing to reach more families during these stressful and uncertain times.

The organization grew from our daughter, Jenny’s, vision to make a difference to those families dealing with cancer. While visiting her brother, Jeff, in the hospital during his bone marrow transplant to treat his cancer, the young girl in the next room passed away. Her family was at her bedside to say their goodbyes. Shortly after her passing, it was realized that the family did not have money to put gas in their car to return home to Phoenix. This was an eye opening experience for Jenny, then a high school freshman. The vision of Children’s Cancer Network was born that day.

At Children’s Cancer Network, 90 cents of every dollar raised goes to mission related programs. Programs are designed to meet the highest priority needs of these families including:

• A gas card program & food card program for families in financial need
• Lodging for families through Ronald McDonald House
• Bi-annual childhood cancer survivorship conferences
• John W. Luttrell scholarship program for childhood cancer survivors or their family members
• “Holiday Surprises” program to fill the wish lists of families affected by childhood cancer
• Sponsorship of the pediatric oncology “Teen Room” in Phoenix Children’s Hospital's new tower scheduled to open in 2011
• Support of patient and family needs as identified by social services at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Cardon Children’s Medical Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center
